‘Towards a Charter of Digital Rights’ lecture within the framework of the XII National Congress of the Legal Profession 2019

The member of the Governing Board of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB) and head of the Digital Transformation Commission, Rodolfo Tesone, has been in charge of moderating the lecture “Towards a Charter of Digital Rights”, held this Thursday within the framework of the XIIth National Congress of the Legal Profession 2019 in Valladolid.

In the lecture, Paloma Val de Fernández del Castillo, managing partner, and Pablo García Mexía, digital lawyer and of council of Ashurst LLP, have analysed some of the many normative projects that seek to respond to the reality of the digital world.

One of the most important issues is the Barcelona Charter for the Rights of Citizens in the Digital Era, which was presented on February 21st, 2019 within the framework of the II Digital Law World Congress held at the ICAB headquarters.

This transversal and international project (#barcelonadigitalrights) aims to lay the foundations for a global agreement that allows the preservation of human rights to be compatible with the impact of the evolution of technologies in recent years in the current society.
